Parking in Miami Beach: The Quick Answer
Best value: City of Miami Beach garages — many cap at $20 a day, and the 42nd Street Garage charges $1/hour up to $8 a day.
Most convenient: Hotel valet or self-park ($25–$45/night).
Cheapest legitimate option: Off-island parking + free Miami Beach Trolley.
Most expensive trap: Art Deco District event-day garages ($40–$100 flat rates were published for March 2026).
Towing risk: Real and active. Always read signs carefully.
Parking in Miami Beach: Meter Rates & Hours
Miami Beach metered street parking varies by zone:
Zone 1 (South Beach core): $4/hour. Includes Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road area, Washington Avenue.
East Middle Beach: $3/hour on the street, $2/hour in off-street lots.
West Middle Beach: generally $1/hour, with a few listed exceptions.
North Beach: $1/hour on the street and in lots.
Free parking hours: South Beach meters outside the Entertainment District, and East Middle Beach meters, are free between 3 AM and 9 AM; the Entertainment District is enforced around the clock. Sundays the city often relaxes some restrictions but not always — verify signage.
Paid hours: South Beach outside the Entertainment District and East Middle Beach run 9 AM to 3 AM (yes, paid until 3 AM — accommodates the late-night crowd). The Entertainment District is enforced 24 hours, West Middle Beach 8 AM to 6 PM, and North Beach generally 8 AM to 11 PM.
Maximum stay: Time limits vary by block, so check the sign at your space. After max time, must move to a different block.

Free Beach Trolley — Best free alternative if you’re staying nearby on Miami Beach.
Parking in Miami Beach: Ocean Drive
Ocean Drive itself has limited street parking — and what exists fills extremely fast. Park in:
13th Street Garage — Closest to Ocean Drive central section.
Anchor Garage — One block west.
Several private lots — Charging $20–$40/day.
Free Beach Trolley to Ocean Drive — The smartest option.
Parking in Miami Beach: Off-Beach Parking + Trolley
Smart-budget visitors park on the mainland (not on Miami Beach) and Uber or take the trolley over. Best off-beach parking spots:
Bayside Marketplace garage — Downtown Miami. $8 daily with validation. Free Metromover/transit to Miami Beach.
Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay area — Some garages $15/day.
Various Brickell garages — $20–$30/day. Free Metromover.

3. Use ParkMobile/PayByPhone, not the kiosks. Faster, no fumbling for change, easy time extensions.
4. Arrive at events early. Event-day flat rates kick in at set times that differ by garage and event, so check the city’s announcement for yours and arrive before they start, which can save $30 or more.
5. Read every sign. Miami Beach signage is dense. Towing is common.
6. Take photos of where you parked. Especially at large garages. The 1111 Lincoln Road and 17th Street garages are large.
